Store Colleague/Night Delivery Drivers Mate - Cardiff 24 hours

 

An exciting opportunity to work within a hybrid role, where you'll be primarily based in-store working as a Store Colleague and then out on the open road within the Cardiff area working as an Airlock Rep (providing cover for approx. 18 weeks a year) as and when required. An Airlock Rep accompanies and assists the Pets at Home Delivery Driver with deliveries to stores outside of trading hours (often overnight).

 

Key Responsibilities for Airlock Rep:

  • Accompany the Pets at Home Delivery Driver on the Airlock Delivery run
  • Act as key-holder on behalf of Pets at Home Ltd
  • To assist in ensuring that deliveries are made on time, reporting any variances on the driver’s paperwork
  • To gain safe and secure access to all stores on the Airlock run, and to allow the delivery to be unloaded
  • Deliver store order pallets into stores
  • To check the pallet counts against the delivery documents and report any variances, on the driver’s paperwork
  • Ensure that all seals are unbroken, and record details on the driver’s paperwork
  • To secure the premises after the delivery has been dropped
  • Know and apply the health and safety and security procedures
  • Awareness, safety, and well-being of others in line with Company procedures and requirements on safe working practices

*** Own transport required to commute to local stores in the Cardiff area ***

Please note that you will get an enhanced rate of pay when you are working as an Airlock Rep after 10 pm at night (£13.59 per hour)

Our Store Colleagues are critical to the success of our business. They are responsible for exceeding our customer's expectations daily, ensuring the highest standard of pet care, brilliant operational standards, and building strong relationships with our customers and colleagues.

This role will offer 18 hours per week and we are looking for someone to work in the store on a Tuesday, Friday and Sunday (6 am - 12 pm).The role will be predominantly be unpacking deliveries and putting stock out. We could offer additional hours (up to taking you up to 24 Hours) These additional hours would be at one of our other local stores.

We will also give you the training, skills, and knowledge to provide our customers with service that reflects our goals of being the 'Best Pet Care Business in the World'.

The candidate we are looking for is:

  • Passionate about delivering great service
  • Flexible. Due to the nature of working within a busy retail environment, we need you to have the ability to work a flexible shift pattern across 7 days a week. You will receive a minimum contract of 18 hours, but you will often be required to work more hours to cover busy periods, absences, and holidays.
  • Experienced in a customer-facing environment
  • Experienced in achieving stretching targets
  • Ready to take on 12 months of industry-leading training covering all the key aspects of the role, handling and caring for Pets, Customer Service and Health and Safety.
