Childrens Activity Instructor - Rugby

Children's Activity Instructor

Based: The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Centre, Rugby - upto 9.90 p/h

Better Leisure Centres are looking for Children's Activity Instructors based at The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Leisure Centre in Rugby, Warwickshire. We believe that children should be active, stimulated and sociable. That's why at GLL, we run Holiday Play Schemes at our Better Leisure Centres throughout the UK. The schemes run during school holidays and provide a safe, yet fun haven for children from 5+ years old. As well as being enjoyable for the children, they're very convenient for working parents too. We're looking to add to our team of Children's Activity Instructors to help keep the scheme successful and be able to provide more children with the opportunity to attend.

Working as part of a team, you'll create a structured, safe and fun environment using the facilities around you. You'll be confident in leading children through a mix of arts & crafts and sporting activities that can include (dependent on availability) anything from football, basketball, swimming (where possible), trampolining and even bouncy castles. You'll encourage an environment of respect and friendship amongst the children, especially as they can be from very diverse backgrounds. We also host children's birthday parties which you'll play a key role in assisting with.

You'll probably be from a childcare, sports or arts background and have experience of working with children of 5+ years old. You should have a minimum Level 2 in Childcare / Play Work or a Level 2 coaching qualification and be able to respond to both group and individual needs. It will be beneficial to have knowledge of Ofsted and Health & Safety legislation as well as the qualities that parents and guardians expect from childcare provision. It goes without saying that you'll be friendly and approachable as well as being imaginative, creative and a positive role model to the children that you supervise.

In return, we offer a range of benefits that you'd expect from the UK's largest leisure provider:

Pension schemes

Discounted membership at our leisure centres

Career pathways

Ongoing training and development to help you to be the best

If you have what it takes to keep children active and happy at our Holiday Play Schemes, apply now at
