Position: Part time and full time available

Rate of pay: £11.05 per hour, plus tips

Southwark Quarter is a sprawling cultural campus nestled in London’s bankside next to Borough Market, the Tate Modern and Shakespeare’s Globe theatre. Founded in 2016, Southwark Quarter is best known for its multi-award winning music venue, Omeara which sits central to all of the offerings, as well as Flat Iron Square, an outdoor beer garden which really established itself during the summer of 2018 as one of the greatest atmospheres for major sporting events and small urban festivals.

Job Description:

Servers are responsible for positive guest interactions while serving guests in a friendly and efficient manner and play an integral role in ensuring our customers have exceptional experiences. At all times, servers are expected to be attentive to our guests' needs, making them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Providing a consistently high level of customer service
  • Complying with and following licensing regulations, Company procedures and policy’s
  • Working as part of a team to deliver excellent customer experience
  • Attend and complete all training provided
  • Maintain operational standards
  • Ensure rooms are prepped and ready for continued service
  • Greet incoming and departing guests warmly with a genuine smile and eye contact; escort them to the area of choice; present menus/set times.
  • Help patrons select food and beverages with recommendations and upselling
  • Stay updated on food and beverage menus and stock levels
  • Transmit orders to bar and food trader by recording patrons' choices on EPOS; identifying patrons' special dietary needs, allergens and special requests
  • Serve orders, prepare basic drinks, deliver accompaniments and condiments
  • Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to patron spills or other special needs
  • Properly open and pour wine/champagne at the tableside
  • Obtain revenues by totalling charges, issuing bill and accepting payments
  • Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed
  • Address customer service issues and refer customers to management when necessary

Requirements

  • Must be able to work Evenings, Weekends and Late Nights
  • Have a genuine passion for what you do
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Able to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure for a high volume site
  • Comfortable speaking with guests
  • Ability to think on your feet and be solution focused
  • Knowledge of Food and Beverage - Desirable
  • Previous experience working as server - Desirable
