Senior Project Manager - Altrincham

Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager ready for a big challenge. Dunham Massey in Cheshire is one of the Trust’s most special properties, with a garden for all seasons, an ancient deer park, a large agricultural estate and a house filled with treasures, enjoyed by over 800,000 visitors annually.

This role will recruit and lead a new team to help Dunham rapidly adapt external environments through Make it Happen, a pilot project delivery approach. You’ll drive a project pipeline in 5 themed areas: building conservation works, active travel links, holiday accommodation creation, nature gain and visitor experience improvements. This approach will ensure project spend doubles to at least £2m annually within three years.

We want an inspirational leader with versatile management skills, who can set us up well, deliver successful outcomes and realise our ambitious vision for this special place.

If you would like to discuss this role and have further questions please email me Nick Mason on nicholas.mason@nationaltrust.org.uk .

Interviews for this role will start on 27 May 2022 in Grasmere.

What it's like to work here

Whilst you will be deployed to Dunham, your high-profile work will be integrated into our National Trust Consultancy which provides properties with advice and practical support across the full range of conservation, marketing and supporter development activities.

You will be a senior member the Trust’s wider project management community and we are looking for an active and enthusiastic contributor in this space.

What you'll be doing

Project pipeline management steps include developing comprehensive client briefs, completing feasibility processes (including costs and consents), building support with our tenants and other key stakeholders and warming up potential funding organisations.

This new Make it Happen approach will test new approaches on behalf of the North region and inform organisational learning and you’ll need to commit to sharing learning, progress, challenges and impacts widely.

Who we're looking for

This role is an innovative leadership and delivery role. Your ability to communicate well, listening to and influencing a busy property leadership team while modelling inclusive, values-driven behaviour in your group. You'll have experience of successfully delivering complex end to end project/ programme management including defining resources, leading multi-million £ procurement and managing the finances, securing project teams and matrix management, across multiple projects/programmes.  You'll hold a recognised project (ChPP /APM PMQ) or programme management (MSP) qualification, show evidence of ongoing CPD in your career to date. You’ll have coaching and mentoring experience with a proven ability to improve performance. Your experience will include delivery of projects in Building Conservation and Construction.
