Casual Swim Teacher - Oldham, Greater Manchester

Do you have what it takes to be part of the team and to provide a first class customer service across swimming lessons within the OCL group?

Due to the hours available and the training provided, this role would be particularly suitable for those wanting to work on a casual basis around other commitments such as college, university, child care or other work commitments.

A requirement for the role is to hold a current STA or equivalent Swim Teacher qualification as well as an STA Safety Award for Teachers (SAT) or STA Pool Lifeguard (PLG) qualification.  For Parent and Baby lessons the STA Baby and Pre-school is a requirement.  You will also be required to attend training for one and a half hours on a monthly basis in order to keep this qualification current and two quarterly CPD’s which will also be available throughout the year.  The rate of pay for a Teacher is £11.46 per hour.

Working for the company is hectic and the expectations for high standards are always there – but the reward of teaching both children and adults to swim and seeing their progress will be fantastic. If this still appeals to you and you are looking to prove your skills as a swimming professional we want to hear from you.

Applications are invited from individuals who will be responsible for delivering a graded, progressive learn to swim scheme that fits within the Sports Development Continuum and meets the needs of the people of Oldham.

The main duties of the role will include instructing swimming lessons, organisation of the swim tuition programme as well as associated administrative tasks.  Operating procedures, policies and standards are to be achieved effectively with an emphasis on health and safety and customer care.

As part of OCL’s total reward package there is a generous holiday entitlement which is over and above the statutory minimum, a pension scheme into which the company contributes, you will be provided with full uniform and any equipment required to undertake your job role.  Also offered is free parking and use of the facilities.

Each session runs for a duration of twenty five minutes and will usually be offered in blocks of hours at a time.  Those shifts which total over two hours will include a paid gap for administration or teacher support depending on the role.

A DBS check is a requirement of the role.  OCL are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all.  If you have what it takes and want to join a great team, please apply online below.
