Job title: Children’s Activities Assistant

Location:  Maidstone Leisure centre

Working Hours: Casual, as and when required, mainly weekends and half term

Salary: Up to to £9.50 per hour + excellent benefits


Here at Maidstone Leisure Trust our goal is to get more people, more active, more often. We provide affordable access to a wide range of sports and leisure facilities to support healthier and happier people across all segments of the local community. To deliver those services takes an enthusiastic and customer focused team - and right now we are looking to recruit for Children’s Activity Assistants to join our fun and vibrant team at our leisure centre.


In this role you will work with your fellow team members to plan and deliver a safe, fun and engaging program of sports, arts and craft activities that meets the needs of our customers who will be aged 4 to 12 years old during the weekends and school holidays. You will also have the opportunity to get involved in future coaching opportunities if you wish.


Your days will be varied and will include providing activity sessions with fitness and wellbeing in mind, delivering children’s parties, coaching various sports (after qualification), and overall making sure the kids are enjoying themselves, are well looked after and have the best experience possible.

We offer a variety of working hours to suit most candidates earliest start time from 8am and latest finish time 6pm during weekends and school holidays.

About you


First and foremost, you will need to have excellent customer service skills, communication and organisational skills as well as be comfortable working with children. We welcome applications from candidates aged 16 and above.


We are looking for candidates who are outgoing, enthusiastic and highly motivated to be considered for this role.


Lastly, it’s desirable that you hold a sport specific, play work qualification, first aid certificate as well as child protection however this is not essential as full training will be provided.
