What you need to know about the role...

As a Front End Engineer, you'll be responsible for the design, quality and delivery of our front-end applications, often working as part of an integrated and agile team but taking ownership of features and initiatives. You will have at least three years' experience in a similar role and be taking the lead in helping us evolve our digital product with new features and functionality. Fundamentally, the role is about bringing creative work to life through well-structured code along with making decisions about how features are built and tested. You have a high attention to detail, are highly collaborative and push yourself and your team to innovate.

You will work on a modern stack, using TypeScript, React and Next.js whilst integrating with some best-in-class software products such as Amplience and Azure DevOps. You will be aware of engineering best practices and help maintain or exceed our current standards through high coverage, automation and code reviews.

You will be joining a growing a diverse and growing Product & Engineering team having just completed a major re-platform, we want a team to help our members and TGG get the most out of the technology.

Essential Skills:

Software engineering
  • JavaScript, ES6+, TypeScript, NodeJS
  • Debugging
  • Familiarity with modular JS patterns
  • Unit testing, Jest and Enzyme
  • ReactJS
  • Data management: Hooks, Redux or similar
  • CSS, modules, Styled Components, Utility first
  • Semantic HTML
  • Code quality management, ESLint, Prettier
  • Front end security
  • BDD, TDD

Non-functional requirements
  • Web accessibilty

Desirable skills
  • Build tools such as Webpack
  • Next.js
  • Functional and OO programming
  • Workflow automation
  • CI/CD configuration
  • Containers, Docker
  • Good understanding of application performance strategies
