Job Description:

  • A catering position like no other; Guaranteed Friday or Saturday evening off, typical evening shift finish 8pm.
  • Permanent role, 5 days a week with Christmas Period time off.

PGL has a fantastic opportunity for a Head Chef to join our catering team at Windmill Hill, in East Sussex.

As Head Chef you will be responsible for providing a high standard dining experience by ensuring appetising nutritious meals and excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring that the catering operation complies with all relevant food and health and safety standards and policies.
  • Understanding and meeting dietary and allergen requirements for all staff, guests and visitors to centre ensuring quality of food and service.
  • Managing, training and overseeing the catering team to provide an excellent catering service operation.
  • Managing all financial aspects of the catering operation to ensure maximum value for money and effective cost control.
  • Managing facilities, resources and the fast paced working environment to meet all required regulations, policies and standards.

What we are looking for:

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a high-volume catering environment and hold a City & Guild/NVQ qualification. You will possess up-to-date knowledge of food hygiene regulations and have experience in delivering a high quality customer service. In this position you will have a proactive approach to problem solving, teamwork and sharing knowledge, alongside a keen interest in the development of staff. Excellent organisational and time management skills are also essential.

Successful applicants are required to undergo an enhanced DBS disclosure, which PGL will pay for.
