General Manager- Premium Lifestyle Club -Berkshire

£70,000 Package/O.T.E. (including bonus, pension and car allowance)


We are looking for a General Manager in Berkshire to take ownership of a fabulous Premium family private-members Lifestyle Club with state-of-the-art health and fitness facilities, swimming and golf.


This post is seen as a development opportunity and stepping-stone to manage larger clubs or resorts in the future. And with the company growing, this is a very real possibility in the long term so exciting times!


The package is broken down as a competitive basic salary depending on experience, 40% annual bonus, car allowance, significant contributory pension and healthcare.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading, coaching, developing and inspiring a large management team and front-line staff to deliver a 5-star experience to their members every day.
  • Work alongside your leadership team to develop their golf, fitness, food and beverage, events and family offering to ensure the right products are delivered at the right time to maximise participation, aid retention and improve the bottom line.
  • Work closely with the Membership department to develop and execute their sales and retention strategy to drive positive net member movement and member yield.
  • Full financial accountability; profit and loss, income, expenditure, debtors; helping set the budgets and business plan.
  • Ensure the property and grounds are well maintained, clean and safe at all times.
  • Support the wider business on projects.


Person Specification:

  • Well groomed, highly personable and professional with outstanding communication skills.
  • Hands-on, customer facing approach to management with an ownership mentality and entrepreneurial flair.
  • At least 2-years site management experience in a multi-faceted multimillion pound turnover leisure business such as a Health Club General Manager or Golf Club Manager.
  • Experience in operating within a premium customer centric club environment.
  • Track record in growing new member sales and improving retention.
  • A demonstrable passion for health, fitness and/or golf.
