General Manager - TVG - London Bridge

REPORTS TO: Senior General Manager of Southwark Quarter

POSITION: Full time with benefits

Southwark Quarter is a sprawling cultural campus nestled in London’s bankside next to Borough Market, the Tate Modern and Shakespeare’s Globe theatre. Founded in 2016, Southwark Quarter is best known for its multi-award winning music venue, Omeara which sits central to all of the offerings, as well as Flat Iron Square,an outdoor beer garden which really established itself during the summer of 2018 as one of the greatest atmospheres for major sporting events and small urban festivals.

tvg hospitality is a global entertainment & hospitality operator with offices in the United Kingdom & the United States. Founded by CEO Ben Lovett, serial entrepreneur and a multi-award winning musician, alongside his brother Greg Lovett who joined the team as CFO following many successful years with the Soho House Group.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Protect and enhance the reputation of the site as a best-in-class destination for hospitality.
• Recruit, develop and lead the site team, setting objectives and identifying growth potential in order to ensure high levels of employee engagement and retention.
• Develop, review and implement staffing strategies to ensure adequate resourcing in line with customer experience and labour productivity targets.
• Implement and ensure compliance with purchasing and inventory management systems.
• Drive sales and control costs in order to deliver revenue and profitability targets.
• Collaborate with the programming and production departments to ensure the effective planning and execution of the events calendar.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external policy and legislation, including Financial Control, Diversity & Inclusivity and Health & Safety
• Oversee third party contracts and service level agreements, including facilities maintenance, security, cleaning and waste management to ensure the venue is kept to the highest standard.

Requirements

• Self-motivated, charismatic leader with minimum 5 years’ relevant management experience, gained either as General Manager in F&B environments, including restaurant service, bars or late-night venues.
• Experience managing larger than 400 guests and teams larger than 30 staff.
• You must be able to demonstrate a keen commercial acumen and ability to analyse and present data in concise, actionable formats.
• You should be comfortable and have experience using a variety of digital applications to manage business processes.
• Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills and an ability to coach and mentor at every level
• You must be a personal license holder.
• You must be a Personal License holder.
