Ganger Farm Sports Romsey - 37 hours per week

Up to 18 months contract

Grade 4 £21,365 - £22,750 per annum

This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive contribution to Sport and Recreation provision in Romsey. Working at Ganger Farm Sports Pavilion to run a brand new state of the art multi-sport centre.

In addition to the day to day duty manager role, you will have the opportunity to assist colleagues in developing the centres identity and role in the provisions of sport in the Romsey area and beyond by working with clubs / organisations to create a balanced and engaging programme of activities and bookings. You will assist the Operations Manager in centre management, and bookings, while also having key involvement in communications, liaising with Sports Clubs and supporting other Sport and Recreation partners to increase activity levels in Test Valley.

To be effective in this role you will have demonstrable experience in sport /leisure and recreation, including working with clubs to accommodate bookings, and canvassing prospective users or hirers.

You will be the sites Duty Manager on a rotational shift pattern with the sites Operational Manager. Your role will be to ensure a high level of service and cleanliness is provided to users and local residents, you will also be expected to provide initial first aid when required. Applicants will need an aptitude for customer service including outreach and community engagement.  

Working with the wider Sport and Recreation Team to develop and implement a strategy in developing club and community use through a sustainable programme on site.

There are numerous groups involved with the centre, and a confident approach is important to manage expectations and ensure that Ganger Farm Sports Pavilion best caters for the varied needs of the community. You will have excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills.

The role will be based at the Ganger Farm Sports Pavilion, Romsey, but the ability to travel when required would be advantageous. Normal working hours will be on a rota across seven days. Operating hours will be weekday afternoons and evenings, and daytime during weekends on a rota system.
