About The Role

As our Junior IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, governance, maintenance and improvement of the business corporate IT Infrastructure, Desktop, Physical & Virtual servers, Local Area/Wide Area MPLS network and any other associated IT infrastructure and any associated software and licenses. The role will support the wider IT team.

  • Monitoring and managing capacity, maintaining system up-time in line with SLAs.
  • Carry out maintenance during scheduled downtime and assist with new deployments and enhancements.
  • Investigate and resolve any issues, as well as taking part in team reviews.
  • Maintain documentation and recommend ways to further improve systems.
  • Managing user's expectations by proactively keeping them up to date with the latest developments in any IT Support issues.
  • Carrying out project work - e.g. Design, implementation, support and documentation of infrastructure solutions.
  • Work on a variety of infrastructure projects to tight deadlines whilst maintaining relationships with stakeholders.
  • Resolve calls escalated from the Service Desk and provide support for various business applications.
  • Help with the management of IT infrastructure Projects.
  • Support of cloud infrastructure such as Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Azure.
  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of production systems.
  • Define and deploy monitoring, metrics, and logging systems.
  • Provision of secure information assets.
  • Helping internal and external customers including system design and specification.
  • Offer infrastructure advice and guidance to the business and applications team, in relation to new software deployments.
  • Installation and maintenance of hardware across the desktop, server, network and storage platforms.
  • Liaise with all 3rd party suppliers of network services, hosting & cloud services, server hardware, telephony services, managed services and any other corporate IT systems.
  • Ensure that governance is adhered to including PCI / GDPR / General security where necessary.
  • Management of Infrastructure related projects with governance, steering groups and project documentation.
  • Communication with vendors and suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of solutions on time and to contract.
