Location: Monk Coniston, Coniston Water, Cumbria, LA21 8AQ

Hours of Work: Full time - 39 per week over 5 days

Contract: Permanent

Job Brief:

To assist the Country House Manager, with the full gardening responsibilities of the country house grounds.

The roles’ duties include:

• Cutting grass
• Weeding
• Maintaining paths, fencing and any other necessary repairs
• Maintenance of machinery
• Planting out
• Assist indoors in the winter

The roles’ responsibilities include but not limited to:

• The overall presentation of the house grounds
• Cultivation of new plants
• Maintenance of hedges, trees and shrubs
• Flower beds and hanging baskets

Candidate Attributes:

• Recent gardening experience or experience in a similar role within a hospitality setting
• Knowledge of the planning and control of gardens, grass cutting, looking to future layouts and suitability of plants
• A ‘can do’ attitude and flexible approach
• Working knowledge of Health and Safety at work practices
