UX Designer (6 Month FTC)

At Pets at Home, we want our digital teams to evolve the way we do business and shape the future of pet care.

Joining our team means you’ll play a crucial role in advancing our digital capabilities and building a brand-new customer experience. We want to excel in digital, and, as we’re working at scale, we’re backing our teams with considerable investment.

We’re also putting pets and their owners at the heart of our digital transformation. As we bring our stores, vets and groom rooms together into a holistic ecosystem of pet care, we’ll give customers a seamless, multi-channel experience that meets their individual needs at every stage.

About the role

We’re looking for a UX Designer to join us on a 6 month fixed term contract. The role can be worked predominantly remotely with occasional travel required to our Support Office in Handforth (Cheshire).

As a UX Designer, you’ll be a core member of one of our digital Product teams. Focussing on improving our Booking services for both our customers and colleagues alike, you will demonstrate a passion for problem solving and designing frictionless user journeys, defining the evolution of our Booking services and supporting the Product Owner’s delivery of various objectives and key results.

About your experience

  • You will have experience in a similar UX/UI role, either from within a pure play ecommerce business or an established multichannel organisation.
  • Experience of working within an agile delivery team would be beneficial. You’ll also display skills designing UX/UI solutions on various device formats (Mobile/Tablet/Desktop).
  • We’re looking for candidates who can hit the ground running and make a big impact straight away. If you have any experience working with Figma this would be a real bonus.
  • Our diversity and inclusion vision is that everyone is welcome and feels part of our group. If you think you’re a good match to what we are looking for, and you share our belief that together ‘we’re better with pets’, we’d like to hear from you, whatever your background or circumstances.

About our purpose

There are all kinds of personal and professional benefits to being part of our digital team, but it’s also worth remembering that everything we do has a sense of purpose. We’re not just here to sell food or treats, we want to help pets and their owners live happier, healthier lives together. When you make a project a success, there’s a pet and their owner at the other end who are benefitting from your efforts.
