About the role

As Marketing Manager, focused on pet care experience, the role will be accountable for the development and delivery of our customer marketing plan. This will include landing seasonal campaigns, improving our value perception and driving awareness of our convenience proposition. This role will establish and lead strong working relationships with the commercial trading teams, acting and leading as a customer champion.

Working with data and insight forms a key part of the Marketing Manager role, using this to inform the group communication plan and acting as the gatekeeper for all customer activity. The role will require somebody to work cross-functionally to oversee the implementation of all customer campaigns, to ensure that we deliver a great experience for our customers.

Key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Utilise either internal or agency resource to develop the campaign creative guidelines inline with our evolving brand guidelines, budget and critical path.
  • Working with the category planning marketer and marketing executive, bring to life our value strategy and improve value perceptions.
  • Develop and deliver the four key seasonal campaigns across winter, spring, summer and autumn by understanding how the needs of pet owners evolves through the seasons.
  • Build a strategy based on market and customer insight.
  • Continue to develop and build a marketing strategy that drives awareness of all the different ways a customer can shop with the business: Click & Collect, Contactless Collection, Pet Expert Live, Order in store and Delivery Promise.
  • Drive the delivery of the customer marketing strategy to achieve a more integrated customer communication process that ensures clear objectives, consistent campaign delivery and a review of performance

About your experience

  • It’s likely that you’ll thrive within a customer centred marketing role, being able to offer strong marketing communications and planning experience, alongside an ability to show demonstrable return. Your proven track record of managing customer marketing plans within a retail or FMCG environment will ensure you have the right foundations to succeed within this role.
  • This role will draw upon your experience of using insight to inform decision making, translating insight into robust marketing plans & campaigns. An understanding of, and an ability to articulate customer journeys is essential.
  • Leadership skills will be required for this role, so any experience of leading or managing others would be advantageous. Equally, whilst this role manages a small team, the Marketing Manager will play a key role in inspiring colleagues across the organisation to achieve collaboration and change when required.
  • Any experience of wider marketing channels or of developing instore marketing material/collateral would be advantageous.
