Job Description

The purpose of this role is to drive and assist the Digital Marketing Manager with the day to day management and optimisation of the SEO channel. Working closely with the wider digital marketing team you will be responsible for building and optimising our organic performance for Game.co.uk.

The responsibility

  • Make & implement recommendations to improve SEO channel performance and rankings.
  • Leading the SEO strategy for peak campaigns including Black Friday and E3, as well as being the point of contact for the upcoming website migration.
  • Planning strategy and copy for future game releases and priority website pages.
  • Accountable for keeping marketing planners and business planners up-to-date.
  • You will be co-ordinating the production of on-page SEO optimisations as well as being involved hands-on creation. Write SEO copy for category, blog and commercial hub pages optimised with keywords and implementing appropriate SEO enhancements.
  • Recommend changes to website architecture, content, internal linking and other factors to improve SEO rankings for target keywords.
  • Performing regular keyword research in-line with business objectives and seasonality to identify new areas for growth.
  • Use tools Botify / ScreamingFrog to identify issues that can cause a negative impact in SERP. Perform in-depth technical SEO audit of websites.
  • Use tools like PI-datametrics / SEMRush for insights and highlight opportunities to improve performance.
  • Works collaboratively with the wider Ecommerce, Marketing, Trade Marketing and other internal teams to ensure high quality customer journeys at all times and gaining factually accurate information for content creation.
  • Presenting digital PR campaigns internally and externally demonstrating marketing knowledge and how digital PR influences organic performance.
  • Work with IT and Development teams to prioritise various SEO issues.
  • Educate internal teams on the impact of SEO on revenue online and driving traffic into retail stores.

Qualifications

  • Hands on experience in an SEO-focused role.
  • Understanding of the video games market and products.
  • Familiarity with using CMS systems.
  • Experience with keyword research and strategy, daily optimization, test plan construction, and in-depth analysis.
  • Research skills to identify, build, and prioritize essential keyword sets.
  • Ability to confidently report on key performance metrics across a variety of tools.
  • Proactively generates new and effective revenue driving SEO initiatives.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to self-manage and keep track of multiple projects.
  • Genuine passion for SEO and online marketing.
  • Experience with content marketing and social campaigns.
  • Continuously and proactively improves the quality of service delivered.
  • Willingly takes the initiative and suggest new approaches.
