Health Care Assistant 

The role:
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Health Care Assistant to join our Minor Operations & Angio department at The Yorkshire Clinic. In this role you will be an integral part of a team who are committed to delivering the highest quality clinical outcomes in a supported environment, where you will be valued for your skills and expertise. You will have a passion for delivering a high standard of service, and a desire to develop your skillset. Attention to detail is key with the ability to stay calm and be practical in challenging situations.

The role will involve assistance in the day to day running of the theatre lists and tasks involved in the patients journey. This will include admitting patients in both the Minor operations department and the Angio suite with support from the Registered staff in the team. Additional to this, you will also play a vital role within the treatment areas to support the Scrub nurse throughout procedures and to offer support to the patients during this period. You will develop skills and  knowledge into the procedures, instrument and consumables, aseptic techniques and will complete all required documentation. You will play a vital role as part of the team in helping maintain a safe environment and contribute to the 5 stages of safer Surgery checks and huddles at all times. You will be well presented in line with our uniform policy and help to maintain a clean and tidy environment including replenishment of stock ordering as required. Full training and support will be provided in these areas. 

What you’ll bring with you: 

• NVQ level 3 or level 2 Minimum and willingness to work towards Level 3
• Hospital background desirable
• A warm, considerate and empathetic character
• A commitment to support individuals and assist as necessary with activities of daily living including personal care/therapy, social, emotional, and recreational needs and aspirations.
• The ability to make decisions and use your initiative
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• A flexible and positive attitude
• Computer literacy skills
