Greenhouse Finance Analyst - Leeds

The Asda Business Services (ABS) Greenhouse is an exciting new concept and a key part of our finance transformation strategy to move work between Commercial Finance and ABS, whilst developing people and improving core processes using a variety of technical and process improvement skills.

These roles are particularly varied, covering elements of commercial work, process redesign, simplification and automation and provide significant opportunities to upskill in data manipulation & visualisation tools.

In the short term, the role will be focussed on supporting the George commercial team in delivering their growth strategy and ensuring they deliver on their P&L commitments.  This will involve supporting the build of the financial plan, running the monthly forecast process, using digital tools to deliver high quality insight, supporting and challenging teams on P&L delivery, providing governance around key processes, providing insight into Investment Appraisal and the opportunity to be involved in a number of ad hoc projects.

In the longer term, there is the opportunity to evolve the role into supporting other functional areas, to provide understanding of how different parts of the business work and help understand potential synergies from grouping together similar types of work.

The Role

You will be the owner of the annual financial plan and monthly forecast models, including generating analysis to support delivery. You will also be responsible for overseeing month end processes across commercial and finance teams. You will be building an expectation of performance by working with key stakeholders/business partners and will have the opportunity to business partner areas of the George team, building business cases and supporting implementation of new initiatives.

You will be responsible for the creation of ad-hoc analysis to drive performance and you will play a role in transformation activities across the team, helping to simplify and automate processes.

 

About You

  • Enthusiastic individual with a 'can do' attitude.
  • Ability to provide accurate, timely information to a high quality with excellent attention to detail
  • Proven analytical skills. Ability to break down complex problems and financially evaluate projects
  • Ability to make recommendations based on assumptions with financial and non-financial colleagues
  • Proven ability to organise, prioritise and co-ordinate workloads within an environment of competing demands and deadlines
  • Strong technical skills required (Excel, Alteryx, Tableau/Power BI, Essbase)
  • Applicants should be a graduate (or equivalent) with strong academics and an accounting qualification (Part qualified is fine)
  • Experience of using excel, power point and databases
  • Experience of data manipulation and visualisation tools an advantage
