be you | be a head chef

you don't need previous experience cooking asian food . what's important is you've got strong experience leading a team in a fast-paced kitchen

what you'll do |   

  • depending on the shift you work, you may start as early as 7am or finish as late as  midnight. you will work an average of 9.6 hours per shift   
  • create a positive kitchen environment where your team feel welcomed + cared for  
  • share your passion + knowledge of wagamama food, ingredients + cooking techniques with your whole team 
  • implement clear procedures to ensure quality + consistency in every dish served 
  • manage the line effectively to ensure all food is delivered on time, meeting demands of service 
  • deal with guest feedback + implement appropriate action plans  
  • effectively control you gp + labour budget 
  • work alongside your general manager to achieve financial targets  
  • ensure your kitchen is always clean + safe for your team + guests  
  • you make sure you follow food safety and health + safety standards throughout your shift 
  • spot, nurture + develop talent within your team  

  about you |  

  • you've got demonstrable experience leading a team in a fast-paced kitchen 
  • you're a real people person, with a passion for food + achieving results with your team 
  • you're experienced working with online delivery companies + running a take out operation 
  • you're a pro when it comes to controlling gp + managing your labour budget 
  •  you have a strong understanding of food safety and health + safety procedures  
  • you know your way around a p&l + are experienced achieving financial targets  
  • you always recognise succession is vital + have previously built strong talent pipelines by developing your teams 
  • you're a brilliant communicator, own what you do + embraces change
