About the role

The Microsoft Systems Specialist will collaborate with and guide a team of contracted technology specialists to ensure the Microsoft environment runs with optimal performance, security and stability.

Your responsibilities as a Microsoft Systems Specialist

Strategy/leadership

·       You will provide input for design and implement short- and long term plans to ensure the Microsoft environment meets existing and future requirements.

·       Ownership of the Microsoft environment and any related problems through to final resolution.

·       Work closely with a team of contracted technology specialists responsible for building, enhancing, integrating and supporting IT systems

·       Work with respective business units to identify needs and design short-term and long-term system roadmaps.

·       Comfortable leading incident, problem and change management processes and/or serving as an Incident Commander for key issues.

·       You lead architecture design for the Microsoft environment.

Operations and management

·       Manage, monitor and develop all in-house Microsoft server software (Windows, Exchange, SQL, Sharepoint, etc), and provide support for Microsoft integrated applications.

·       Manage Active Directory and its services including: AD sites/services, ADFS, DHCP, DNS, IIS, CA, and GPO’s

·       Administration of user accounts, permissions and system access rights in Active Directory and IAM tools.

·       Plan and coordinate installation of in-house and remote hardware and software across the Group’s network.

·       Assess and administer server equipment, hardware and software upgrades, including a virtual environment on VMware.

·       Responsible for on-site and off-site datacenter servers, services, and backups.

·       Collaborate with IT security to ensure effectiveness of security solutions, services, patching, and processes within the Microsoft environment.

·       Monitor and test application, server, and server hardware performance and provide performance statistics and reports.

·       Develop, maintain, and test disaster recovery plans for the Microsoft environment and services.

·       Manage Microsoft based or Microsoft integrated cloud solutions including O365.

·       Manage Microsoft licenses for all Microsoft applications.

·       Asset management for hardware and software across the Group.

What we are looking for

·       Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.

·       Fluent in English written and spoken.

·       Experience in managing multi-disciplined and international (outsourced) IT teams.

·       Experience in IT-audits.

·       Experience with managing priorities and investments.

·       Experience in interpreting the applicability of laws and regulations (including data privacy practices and laws) to company operations.

·       Experience with supporting large Microsoft environments.

·       Strong technical knowledge of common Microsoft software, services and solutions.

·       Strong analytical skills and thought processes.

·       Solid understanding of enterprise-wide LANs, WANs, WLANs, VPNs etc.

·       Hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware such as servers, routers, interfaces, switches, hubs, modems etc.

·       Knowledge and understanding of system flow charts, data processing concepts and telecommunications principles.

·       Solid PowerShell knowledge
