General Manager - Berwick-upon-Tweed
PGL have an exciting opportunity for an outgoing, enthusiastic individual to join our team at Ford Castle as our General Manager. You will manage and oversee the operation of the incredible Medieval Ford Castle, steeped in history, with the rolling countryside of Northumberland as a backdrop. The castle benefits from vast grounds which are the perfect place to hide our exciting ranges of outdoor activities!
As a General Manager for Ford Castle, you will be great at setting your own work agenda, be super self-motivated and prioritise well. You will develop and lead a strong Centre team managing all facilities and resources to deliver the PGL brochure promise; exceeding customer expectations, setting and achieving financial targets and profit levels, underpinned by a strict culture of excellent Health and Safety.
We are looking for candidates who can champion and deliver exceptional standards and a safe experience throughout our centres that delights our guests and leaves them wanting to return.
The Health and Safety of our guests and team is paramount. We need you to ensure everything is done accurately and to the very highest industry standards and that you will instil these standards within your teams.
As a General Manager you will strive to develop the potential of individuals and teams, empower people to maximize their performance, create a supporting team making clear decisions and drive organisational change.
No two days are the same as you will role model a strong presence ‘on the floor’ overseeing the numerous areas of the operation including catering, retail and housekeeping always ensuring standards are exceeded and developed.
What we are looking for:
You will have worked in a Senior Management role in a fast-paced busy consumer-facing environment. You will be great at setting your own work agenda, be super self-motivated and prioritise well. You will have a proven track record of delighting customers with the best standards of delivery to deliver our brochure promise.
The ideal candidate will have experience of managing a large team, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to motivate and lead your team, with positivity, rigor and ambition.
In the office you will be a confident user of technology, Microsoft Office, Excel and be well versed in projects and managing budgets.
We’ll need you to have a full, clean driving license; have measurable experience in managing Health and Safety in a work environment and have sound knowledge of Safeguarding requirements.
This is a permanent, full time role working a flexible schedule including days, evenings weekends and public bank holidays.
Candidates must be available for assessment centre w/c November 29th.
