Located in the lovely village of Braemar in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, The Fife Arms Hotel is a truly stunning heritage property. Combining a strong Scottish heritage and community, with a hotel filled with phenomenal contemporary art and Scottish culture, the Fife Arms is a world-class destination showcasing the finest seasonal produce for which Scotland is world-famous. From fresh seafood and game to local whiskies and spirits, many of the ingredients used in the kitchens and bars is sourced from local suppliers, gamekeepers, and farmers.

The Clunie Dining Room features wood-fire cooking and seasonal Scottish produce in a striking room painted by artist Guillermo Kuitca. Traditionally the heart of the village, The Flying Stag is the hotel’s public bar. Frequented by residents and visitors alike, the public bar offers classic Scottish dishes, real ales, and live entertainment. The Fife Arms also offers a range of unique venues to host memorable celebrations and once-in-a-lifetime events.

The role

To be the ultimate host and role model, exceeding the expectation of our guest experience in every aspect of their stay so that they leave us feeling enriched and engaged in our ethos.

What success looks like…

• Service Standards 

Ensure our Standard Operating Procedures and Guest Journey are trained and implemented to ensure the team is equipped with the knowledge to provide excellent service to guests.

• Business Development 

Ensure the team positively approach sales opportunities in order to maximise revenue by making informed recommendations based on in-depth knowledge of the menus (including preparation techniques and accompaniments).

• Budgetary Responsibilities

Develop and implement the F&B strategy, policies and procedures in order to achieve the desired budgets and margins.   

• Team Management 

To manage the team whilst promoting a professional image with a caring and helpful attitude to ensure consistent and continual high service standards.

• Health & Safety

Create, maintain and promote a safe working environment by ensuring that you and your team are adhering to Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, Fire & Evacuation procedures and Licensing Laws.

• Training

Take ownership of your personal development, enhancing your ability to build knowledge and make informed decisions, whilst supporting the development of your team through on job coaching and mentoring.

What makes a brilliant Food & Beverage Manager?

Proven experience required. Must have a strong work ethic along with a passion and flair for brilliant customer service.  Excellent leadership skills required.
