KAL Klub Swim Volunteer - Huddersfield, West Yorkshire
Our swimming volunteer assist our teachers with the delivery of lessons for children & young people at all abilities or stages of the KAL Klub Swim.
We are currently seeking volunteers to support our Alpha stages lessons which are designed to offer extra support and smaller steps for swimmers with additional needs.
You will be supporting a qualified swimming teacher with the delivery of lessons and providing the encouragement and support swimmers require to take part in activities as they learn to swim and develop their skills. You'll interact with children & young people throughout the lessons, as well as assisting our teachers with registers, getting equipment ready for lessons, and keeping the area safe for lessons. You'll be developing your communication, leadership and teaching skills.
You'll have an interest swimming and be looking to share this with children, and an interest in working with and teaching young people with additional needs. You might also be considering working towards gaining a swimming qualification (Level 1, Level 2) and looking to gain experience of swimming teaching. You'll be welcoming and approachable and able to communicate with children of all ages while maintaining an organised and professional approach.

In return, we provide you with a full induction which includes essential training, and ensuring you are familiar with your site, and the lessons you will be supporting. We'll support you throughout your time volunteering with us and provide a uniform t-shirt to wear while volunteering. Our volunteers also have the opportunity to access additional training to support their role, and access to a discounted membership of KAL.
An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required for this this role.
