Laundry Assistant - Housekeeping - Somerset

Department Description

The laundry is the heart of the Housekeeping Team, making sure that all the bedding and towels are fresh and clean for our guests. We also look after the Estate's restaurants/kitchens linen as well as our Spa towels and robes. This means we need people who will be focused on the role and also be able to cope with the busy/demanding pressure within the department.

Position Summary

This role is for a self-motivated person, who can work under pressure. The role involves working as a team, but you may also be working on your own. Being in the laundry you must be able to work at a fast pace and able to lift heavy loads as this is a physical role. Driving is essential to the role as you will be driving around the estate for collections and deliveries

Key Responsibilities:

• Collections and deliveries of linen across the Estate
• Use of laundry machines
• Follow all H&S and Manual Handling procedures
• Follow all opening and closing procedures
• Wash and press guests clothing when required
• To look presentable at all times and wear the correct uniform
• Work closely as part of an essential team

Skills and Experience

• Work experience as a Laundry Assistant but not necessary as we provide training
• Experience with industrial cleaning equipment and products
• Good physical health and stamina
• Flexibility to work in shifts, weekends
• Be able to work as a team and on your own initiative
• Ability to follow instruction
• Attention to details
• Clean UK Driving Licence
