Shore Excursions Assistant - Ship Based - Overseas

We have an exciting opportunity for the role of Shore Excursion Assistant on board one of our ships. Join us and you’ll discover that working at sea is more than just a job. It’s a way of life. We are looking for people who have a real passion for guest experience and who love going the extra mile. You will visit different places, explore new worlds and gain experiences that will stay with you for a lifetime.

As a Shore Excursion Assistant your main responsibilities will include:

  • Advertising and selling shore excursions to maximize on board revenue and meet targets.
  • Escorting excursions to monitor the quality and service delivered.
  • Resolving guest issues or complaints.
  • Assist with the dispatching of tours.

It would be great if you had some previous experience working in a target driven environment. In addition any experience of the travel industry and delivering presentations would be advantageous. However, these are not essential. We believe in hiring people with the right attitudes and strengths over their competencies.

You will have a drive to seek excellence in your work as well as a natural ability to prioritise and organise. The fact you adapt easily when things don’t go to plan will make any last minute changes to itineraries a lot easier. Your natural ability to plan and organise will enable you to effectively dispatch tours and reach revenue targets. The fact that you love to learn new things will help you keep up to date with local information and sell our products to the guests.

This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your career with a company who puts its people and customers at the centre of everything we do. The contract lengths are either 4 or 6 months onboard with 2 months leave, and life onboard involves working 10 hours a day, 7 days a week. Your 10 hours will be split between morning, afternoon and evening activities. In return you will receive a competitive rate of pay, shared cabin, and the enviable opportunity to travel the world and to contribute to the ongoing success of Carnival UK.

It takes great passion and real dedication to maintain our position at the top. That’s why people are at the heart of our journey delivering the highest standards to our valued customers. With support to help you reach your potential and receive attractive company benefits. Join us on our journey, apply now.

We are working hard to build a flexible and inclusive culture. As part of our culture difference is valued and our people can be themselves. We welcome applications from everyone because inclusivity is at the heart of everything we do. We do not discriminate on the basis of age, disability, gender, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation, marriage & civil partnership and pregnancy & maternity.

We are currently recruiting for our Talent Pools to fill anticipated roles in 2021 and beyond. Please note that throughout the Recruitment & On boarding process you may not be advised of a start date. If you are successful, sufficient notice will be provided when we have a ship and start date for you.
