Management Accountant - Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire
Butlin's are looking for a Management Accountant to join the Finance team based in Hemel Hempstead. Reporting into the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager, we are looking for an enthusiastic accountant who can help support our business.
Purpose of the role:
The purpose of this role is to provide support the business to make decisions with insightful and informative information. The role enables risk management, prepares and provides realistic planning and provides information for fact-based decision-making.
The individual will ensure that monthly accounts are accurate and reports upon and will report periodically on the key business drivers.
They will liaise with key individuals and support by providing them with financial information and insight.
They will complete ad hoc analysis in line with business requirements and will spend time data gathering and financial modelling.
You will be responsible for:
To support Butlin's by producing insightful analysis
To prepare the accounts and adjust in line with accounting standards
To support key decision makers within the business through the provision of information
To support the budgeting and forecasting process
To develop and improve period reporting
You will be accountable for:
Weekly and Monthly Reporting and causal analysis
Posting Journals and reviewing cost transfers
Reviewing and adjusting accounts within Hemel Support including Entertainment and Marketing spend
Working with the forecasting system to prepare, publish and narrate budgets/forecasts and risks and opportunities
Reviewing cost lines within the P&L and investigating methodologies and discrepancies.
We are looking for:
Excellent Excel skills - vlookup / sumif / pivot tables / basic knowledge of sql databases (not compulsory - this can be taught)
Ability to learn new systems
Excellent people and communication skills
Driven and confident
Proactive and positive approach to improving processes
Part Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA with available study package
Attention to detail / self-motivator / comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment
Willing to engage with Resort teams and build relationships
