Banqueting Porter (Casual) - Hampshire

Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire is a resort style hotel steeped in history and set in a picturesque countryside estate. With 133 bedrooms, a varied selection of restaurants for the guests to dine in, and many onsite activities, the hotel attracts many types of guests.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up, breakdown, and clean tables, chairs, buffets, skirting and props specified by the banqueting order and ensure all function rooms are set as required, in a timely fashion.
  • To ensure that rooms are completely clean and in order after each function, to be ready for the next event.
  • Retrieve meeting materials, props, crates and boxes form the hotel’s receiving area and store them safely and securely. Log receipt of all packages and materials and ensure that they are delivered to the proper room on the date and time required.
  • To maintain and control inventory of banquet equipment and to ensure that inventory is kept clean and in good repair.
  • Ensure that the hotel is checked daily for banquet equipment to be returned to the storeroom and ensure that storage rooms are maintained in a clean, orderly fashion.
  • Stock check linen, china, silver, glassware and supplies for servicing ensuring that they are in good condition.   To ensure that linen par stock is maintained and that dirty linen is returned to the laundry.
  • To report daily and weekly work assignments to the Banquet Service Manager.
  • To attend and participate in all required meetings.
  • To respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
  • To perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.

  • Excellent communications skills with a strong command of the English language
  • MUST possess the legal right to work in the UK
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work all shifts, weekends and holidays
  • Immaculate personal presentation
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to anticipate guest needs and go the extra mile

This role involves lifting, pushing and carrying equipment as well as working.

The shifts will vary but will include early mornings and late nights.
