Insert Main function of the role:


Key Responsibilities:

  • Sell and market the Centre's Conference facilities and ancillary services.
  • Assist with the implementation of sales initiatives for the Department under the direction of the Head of Sales
  • Handling incoming event enquires (primarily by phone or email) with a view to confirming business.
  • Account manage, develop and maintain good relationships with an allocated commercial client base, conference placement agencies and professional conference organisers, including attending client familiarisation trips where required.
  • The Account Executive will encompass account management , contracting and continuity relationships in conjunction with the Event Manager
  • To undertake client show-rounds and conduct sales presentations, ensuring that a professional image of the barbican is maintained at all times.
  • To assist with the overall main objective to achieve and exceed the sales revenue targets as set within the long term financial plan.
  • Attend conference and exhibition industry events on behalf of the Barbican to promote the Centre.



Experience/skills required:

  • Previous experience working in a large conference and concert venue would be desirable
  • Knowledge of Salesforce and Artifax systems (training would also be given)
  • Proven key client account management
