The Restaurant Group Plc (TRG) is a significant player in the UK casual dining market, operating over 400 restaurants and pubs which include Wagamama, Frankie and Benny's, Chiquito, and Brunning & Price pubs.  We also operate a concession business with 35 sites, primarily in UK airports.

This is an exciting time for TRG - as well as recent changes and innovation to develop our offering and customer experience in our established, iconic brands such as Frankie and Benny's, we are also pursuing other growth opportunities within the dining sector, exploiting online brands, delivery and click and collect.

The Role

The business is looking for a Lead Business Analyst, primarily based from our London Bridge office. Reporting into the Head of Change, and working within the fast-paced Tech & Change team, this is a key role identifying and developing solutions that meet defined business challenges and needs. 

You will work across the entire project lifecycle, from scoping through to post go-live, and work with a variety of stakeholders up to CEO level.

As the lead analyst in the team, you will have line management responsibility and will ensure that business analysis principles and best practices are adhered to.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with project teams and business stakeholders to understand business challenges and gather, analyse, define and document high quality, accurate business requirements.
  • Validate, analyse, and document existing business processes, mapping functional and non-functional requirements into appropriate, future To-be processes
  • Run and facilitate workshops, meetings and 1-2-1 interviews with stakeholders to gather requirements
  • Evaluate and prioritise potential solutions against documented business requirements to ensure a fit for purpose and appropriate solution
  • Turn documented business requirements into a clear backlog for developers to refine and use
  • Support the tech development team's agile ways of working (scrum ceremonies, sprint planning). This will include defining and communicating features, user stories, acceptance criteria plus facilitating queries from the developers where required
  • Support the Project Manager with user acceptance testing (UAT) and successful project delivery by ensuring the pre-determined acceptance criteria is met
  • Line manage and develop a small team of internal and external tech/change focused business analysts
  • Develop and maintain a robust understanding of the TRG business, to include knowledge in restaurants operations, systems and processes

Required Experience

  • Significant experience as a Business Analyst in a highly relevant sector (leisure, hospitality, retail)
  • Experience working with tech development teams
  • People management experience, ideally leading a small team of BAs
  • Knowledge of business analysis methods and tools
  • Experience in working with both waterfall and agile methodologies. Ideally you will have previously used Azure Dev Ops to capture and brief requirements to technical teams
  • Up to date with business analysis industry initiatives, advances, standards; preferably holding a recognised business analyst qualification
