Here at The Boat, we are a creative group who have found our way together, to launch a new breath-taking restaurant concept that will take the Solent by storm – The Boat.  Now we are looking for the key piece of the puzzle, a unique, creative, and maybe just a little bit crazy, Head chef who will bring The Boat alive. Using the freshest local catches and ingredients the island has to offer, creating a menu like none other… Could you be our key piece?

What does our key piece look like..

This role requires someone with a flair, innovation, creativity and vision who can build, motivate and lead a team, to bring out their potential. Leading by example whilst being able to develop, cost and produce fresh seasonal menus along with a variety of quickly evolving signature dishes. They must have fantastic and proven logistics skills to co-ordinate the service onboard The Boat.

• Have experience leading your team to excellent service through quality food and organisation as a Head Chef.
• Demonstrate a passion for recruiting, inspiring and developing a team
• Be an active hands-on team player with outstanding communication skills
• Be responsible and able to manage the kitchen staff rota, training
• Be responsible for monitoring health and safety, effectively, at all times
• Be able to demonstrate your creativity and ability to design and deliver new dishes for our seasonal menus and weekly signature dishes
• Be able to run a multi-site kitchen system, controlling the onboard service kitchen and mainland preparation kitchen effectively.
• Demonstrate great planning and organisational skills, necessary to maintain effective controls in both GP and labour
• Have a pro-active approach to driving sales and delivering growth, through engagement with both kitchen and front of house teams
