Maintenance Site Assistant - Shropshire

Condover Hall activity centre is always busy with the buzz of staff and guests using the indoor and outdoor facilities. As a Maintenance Site Assistant, you will be a vital part of ensuring that the operation runs smoothly. You will follow direction from the Maintenance Supervisor to complete your day to day tasks and show initiative when additional issues arise. The health and safety of our guests and staff should be your biggest concern with all tasks completed to the highest compliance standards.

What you will be doing:

• Complete compliance checks around site including: water and electric
• Respond to odd jobs around site reported by the guests and your colleagues
• Manage refuge collection
• Drive the company site car when instructed
• Understand and abide by health and safety legislation
• Undertake cleaning and upkeep duties of indoor and outdoor equipment when required
• Work on individual projects but also interact as part of the wider operations team across the site

What we’re looking for:

• Previous handyman, caretaker or trades background
• Experience in a similar setting such as a school or activity centre is a bonus but not essential
• An ability to follow instructions but show initiative when needed
• A responsible and conscientious outlook in regards to health and safety details
• Full driving licence

• The role is to be based at JCA’s flagship activity centre, Condover Hall, Shrewsbury
• You must be able to make your own way to Condover Hall as accommodation is not provided as standard
• Permanent, full-time position
• The role is paid at the National Living Wage
• The role will involve working occasional weekends
