Nuffield Health is Britain's largest not-for-profit healthcare organisation. Join us as a Driver in our Cambridge HSSU team and play your part in building a healthier nation.

Our Hospital Sterile Services Unit (HSSU) supports our hospitals in the supply of sterile and/or disinfected surgical equipment to the local hospital network.

The Role

As a Driver you will;

  • Collect and make deliveries driving 5.2T vehicles to our customers.
  • Act as an ambassador for the unit being the first point of contact for customers.
  • Regularly check that equipment is in good working order and that faults are reported.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy working environment.
  • Maintain accurate records / documentation.
  • Identify stock issues as they arise.
  • Collect and make deliveries of medical devices by van/car
  • Ensure all tachograph records are maintained correctly
  • To receive and check delivery of medical devices from the customer

The Person

To succeed as a Driver you will;

  • Hold a full driving licence, including a C1 entitlement, which allows you to drive vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW).
  • Have basic knowledge of current driver hour legislation and preferably hold a Driver digital tachograph card.
  • Be comfortable with manual handling - movement of transport trolleys weighing upwards of 250kg.

The role will involve working early morning/evenings and Saturdays, so applicants need to be flexible with regards to working hours.

Shifts operate between the hours of 02.00 - 21.00 Monday to Friday with varing shift times on Saturdays according to the requirements of the hospitals.

A uniform will be provided along with appropriate personal protective equipment

Location - Cambridge
Full Time, 37.5 hours a week
Salary - £18,500 - £19,500
