Leisure Assistant - Birmingham

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Sport Aston for a Leisure Assistant to join our team based on Aston University campus at the Sir Doug Ellis Woodcock Sports Centre.

We are looking for a flexible individual who is willing to learn new skills and embrace the development opportunities that Sport Aston has to offer to support future career advancement from this multi-functional role.

Our Leisure Assistants are the front line of our operations. This is a customer facing role and you will be engaged with lifeguarding, setting up and dismantling sports equipment, cleaning and minor maintenance of the building and dealing with customer enquiries.

You must possess a current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification together with basic numeracy and literacy skills. You must demonstrate flexibility in the approach to your work and be prepared to work early mornings, evenings and weekends on a shift basis. You will be a team player willing to go above and beyond for our customers. Ideally you will have some previous experience of work in a sports centre or swimming pool. Some previous supervisory experience would also be a distinct advantage.

Interview Dates:

Tuesday 12 August 2021 - Stage 1 Pool Test 

Thursday 17 August 2021 - Stage 2 Formal Interview 

Please note only candidates who successfully pass the stage 1 pool test will be put forward for the stage 2 interview.
