Fantastic opportunity to work in a recently refurbished 5* country inn on the edge of Lancashire and the gateway to the Lake District.  We’re looking for a pro-active multiskilled superstar who doesn’t mind getting stuck in!  Someone to develop and lead the team to offer a first-class friendly service in our 40 cover restaurant + outside dining & drinking areas, cosy bar and 7 luxury rooms (extending soon). 

The New Inn has developed reputation both locally and with our visiting guests for quality service and now with extra requirements to keep our team and customer safe from the risk of COVID 19, this role plays a key part in building customer confidence.

What’s the job about?

  • Act as an ambassador for the Company, setting the example for and training staff to deliver the highest standards of service and presentation that meets customer and guests' needs and expectation. 
  • Taking direct responsibility for all areas of the inn 
  • Maximising income and controlling costs to deliver and exceed budget
  • Maintaining high standards of health and safety requirements

What we’re looking for from you

Ideally you have the following skills and experience – not all are essential as we’ll help with some training:

  • Minimum 2 years General Manager or significant Assistant Manager experience in a hospitality based business
  • Held profit responsibility for a customer facing business
  • Personal Premises License Holder (or ability to achieve quickly upon appointment)
  • Previous experience of recruiting and managing teams
  • Proven achievement of KPIs and budgets
  • Proven record of creative solutions to customer suggestions and concerns
  • Track record of group training and individual coaching
  • Health & Safety Management, including writing of risk assessments (Level 3)
  • Food and Beverage stock control and operational management
  • Good level of written and verbal English
  • Solid computer skills, Word and Excel
  • In line with requirements of the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996, all applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK.  Documented evidence of eligibility will be required from candidates as part of the recruitment process.  

Pay & Benefits

£33,000 per annum, paid on a 4 weekly basis.

With great transport links and only 5 minutes from J35 of the M6, The New Inn, Yealand is a great central point to explore The Lakes District, Yorkshire Dales and Forest of Bowland.
