The Barony Bar, is an iconic Scottish city centre pub, located at the heart of Edinburgh. This historic building was first a drinks merchant in 1896, before becoming a pub, and it has been a staple of the Edinburgh drinks scene ever since.

The venue holds a bohemian feel and great atmosphere. A planned 100K investment promises to enhance its existing charming look and feel, to restore this already beautiful pub back to its former glory.

We are looking for a passionate, ambitious partner to continue the legacy of the Barony. This is the perfect opportunity for a management company that can bring leadership, professionalism, pride, and excellent hosting skills. Running compelling pubs will be in your DNA, and your creative vision will reinvigorate a blank canvas whilst respectfully restoring the pub's original features.

The Barony Bar is situated on Broughton Street in the Heart of Edinburgh, a 10-minute walk from Waverley train station. Its prime location within the city, allows it to take pride of place among a selection of pubs, restaurants and entertainment that draw nearby residents, visiting tourists and city centre commuters looking for an authentic Scottish pub experience.

The Pub

There is much to admire in this handsome pub - the tiled dado including original paintings of Scottish scenes; the little-altered Victorian bar counter and gantry; the beautiful tiling; and two Victorian tiled fireplaces with fine mirrored over-mantels. It is notable for its impressive Classical style decorative scheme by respected local architect, John M Forrester in 1898-9.

We love to engage Management Companies that help us create pub legacies that stand the test of time and become the hub of their community. We get that every pub has its own distinct character, so our Operations Manager will work closely with the Management Company to understand the true identity of the business, we can then help support and amplify this as part of the Management Partnership model.
