About the role

The Peak Fitness Club and Spa at The Carlton Tower Jumeirah will offer hotel guests and club members world class treatments, wellness and fitness classes such as Yoga and Pilates with breath-taking views over London’s iconic skyline.

As Head Spa therapist you will be expected to carry out a wide range of spa treatments to a high standard and work proactively to attain retail targets. You will be a role model for the other therapists and supervising in the Spa Managers absences. A Head Spa Therapist is required to carry out a wide range of treatments such as massages, body treatments, facials, manicures, pedicures and a range of signature treatments.

• Carry out internal training and mentoring of Spa Therapists and apprenticeships.
• Assist the Spa Manager to ensure team targets & objectives are set and met including retail and treatment targets.
• Stand in for the Spa Manager in their absence where appropriate.
• Act as a role model for other junior level therapists; helping at times to mentor and train new starters and assist with staff appraisals
• Consistently achieve hitting retail targets & support therapist that do not.
• Ensure spa equipment is working and to coordinate safety and maintenance checks and repairs with the maintenance team where necessary
• Providing a direct communication line with the spa manager to ensure they are informed of any customer care issues or breaches in company procedures
• Help the spa manager ensure that spa procedures, codes of practice and guidelines are adhered to whether it be the completion of health questionnaires, maintenance of client treatment records or dealing with customer complaints

About you

The successful candidate will have the following experience and skills:

• CIDESCO, CIBTAC, NVQ level 3 or equivalent Beauty Therapy qualifications (Level 4 is desirable)
• Minimum of two years previous experience as a fully qualified therapist.
• Have experience in a similar position within a luxury 5 star environment
• Have a passion for your work and the ability to innovate, with a proven track record within luxury environments
• Have the ability to operate in a diverse and luxury environment with a focus on guest experience
• Be a self-motivator and someone who is ready to challenge in the interest of continuous improvement
• Excellent level of English
• Be friendly, approachable and professional
• Have a high degree of knowledge in Food Hygiene and Safe Working Practice
