Responsibilities

• Ensure high quality data platforms and reporting support is provided to the business.
• Manage resource allocation for projects and BAU to ensure efficient delivery whilst maintaining service.
• Lead the delivery of a robust and stable data ecosystem which is well maintained and reliable.
• Lead the deployment of new technologies across all areas of data. Ensure they are configured and maintained to a high standard.
• Collaborate with all areas of IT including Architecture, Development, Testing and Service on the delivery of the IT strategy and problem resolution.
• Input into strategic vision for technology.
• Assist in the resolution of major incidents.
• Own the relationship with strategic suppliers.
• Operate a development backlog and associated grooming and refinement of requirements.
• Recruit, mentor and develop team members.
• Research into areas of technical interest.
• Drive operational excellence and maintain SLAs to the business.
• Keep abreast of emerging technologies and trends relevant to the business and its activities.

Skills, Knowledge and Behaviour

• Experience leading delivery and support teams with responsibility for data or reporting.
• Relevant Industry Qualifications.
• A good understanding of Azure and associated technologies.
• A solid understanding of Microsoft SQL Server and data extraction and manipulation methods.
• Involvement on large projects involving IT infrastructure.
• Familiarity with the Microsoft BI Stack and supporting tools
• Data analysis and reporting
• OLTP and OLAP workloads
• Monitoring approaches and application
• Visual Studio
• Sound understanding of software development techniques and methodologies
• Hardware and server configuration (Operating System, storage etc)
• Basic understanding of LAN and WAN networking concepts
• Knowledge of data governance and compliance
