JOB TITLE: Assistant Technical Manager

DEPARTMENT: Under the Bridge

REPORTING TO: Deputy General Manager

JOB FUNCTION: To assist the technical manager in delivering all technical operational aspects of events at Under the Bridge including live music events, corporate events, private parties, showcases, hospitality functions, and broadcasted or pre-recorded events. The person will also work alongside the Venue’s management team and all stakeholders involved with Under the Bridge to meet the technical requirements for all events.

LOCATION: Stamford Bridge

CONTRACT: Permanent. 40 hours per week across any 5 of 7 days per week.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES (Play Your Part): 

  • To work with the Technical Manager to assist, manage, and deliver all technical aspects of events at Under the Bridge.
  • To assist - and stand in for - the technical manager and oversee the technical aspects of a production from ‘load in’ to ‘load out’.
  • To keep the stage, backstage, and front of house areas clean and tidy and in accordance with Health & Safety guidelines.
  • Provide technical show cover - including working as venue technician when required.
  • Point of contact for artists and management on all technical show aspects.
  • To act as the technical liaison with clients and other venue departments, providing them with technical support.
  • To assist in maintaining Under the Bridge’s technical equipment.
  • To undertake a ‘Pre-Show’ checklist prior to every event and ensure that all technical aspects are safe and ready for public admittance.
  • Maintain stock levels, and oversee equipment repairs and report any defects in technical equipment.
  • Help manage freelancers for lighting /sound and AV on a show-to-show basis.
  • Have a technical working knowledge of event production equipment - including sound, lighting, video, broadcast, and LED screens.
  • Ensure you comply with all Health and Safety regulations and safe working practices as required by current legislation and the company’s health and safety policy.
  • Willing to work flexible and unsocial hours including evenings, nights, weekends, bank holidays and New Year’s Eve.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION:

Qualifications:

Desirable

•       Any relevant industry recognised qualification or educational training.

Experience:

Essential

  • Worked as technical contact or venue AV technician at a venue or equivalent for at least 2 years.
  • Broad technical expertise.
  • Excellent computer, verbal and written communication skills
  • Organised, efficient and ability to prioritise workload.
  • Ability to work logically with good problem-solving skills, remaining calm under pressure.
  • Able to work alone and as part of a team.
  • Well presented, with good time management skills.
  • Ability to manage freelance staff and communicate across all levels.
  • Experience of the physical demands of working within a live music venue.

Desirable

  • First aid & IOSH qualified.
  • Knowledge of CAD drawing and media production software packages.
  • Previous experience with Yamaha audio consoles.
  • Previous experience with GrandMa2 lighting Console.
  • Previous experience with Livestream Studio.
