Fusion Lifestyle is looking for a Level 1 qualified Diving Teacher/ Instructor to develop, organise and deliver safe, enjoyable, high-quality Diving lessons.

Working under the supervision of and as directed by a L2 Diving Coach, you will:

  • Assess divers readiness to participate
  • Maintain a safe environment
  • Deliver planned and agreed warm up / cool down activities within the allocated time
  • Give demonstrations
  • Utilise motivational techniques: Praise, Positive reinforcement
  • Carry out small group behaviour management
  • Observe and provide effective verbal and non-verbal feedback and planned and agreed coaching points within the allocated time
  • Identify Faults in diving technique to include: Posture, take off, flight and entry.
  • Coach skill chains and practices for the following dives: Forward, Back, Reverse and Inward

 Additional responsibilities:

  • Ensure the efficient and effective operation of sessions, responsible for equipment set up and security, where appropriate.
  • Carry out administrative tasks including class registers and assisting with feedback and evaluation of participants’ progress
  • Provide excellent customer service to all members of the centre
  • Commit to obtaining L2 within 6 months of starting role, or as soon as technically ready

Hygiene and Safety:

  • Champion in role and take personal responsibility for all hygiene, health and safety policy and procedure
  • Carry out testing and / or other hygiene, health and safety checks as needed/requested, passing results immediately to the appropriate person and escalating potential issues promptly
  • Safely support managing customer flow and expectation of waiting times and attendance across centre and lessons
  • Undertake all day-to-day cleaning and maintenance of the relevant equipment and fittings, to the highest possible standards, bringing attention any faults or major repairs to the relevant team
  • Proactively manage customer behaviour during the use of facilities to ensure highest possible levels of safety and enjoyment

Essential Criteria:

  • ASA Level 1 Diving Assistant (Coaching) Qualification
  • Current IOS license
  • Strong communication skills
  • The willingness to develop technically under the supervision of a Level 2
  • Ability to work well with all ages
