Position Summary                                                                             

The Chief Steward plays a key role in leading the smooth operation of kitchen production and hygiene standards, providing direction for the stewarding team.

Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, this role is part of the Kitchen management team. You will be required to ensure smooth day-to-day kitchen operations and all food preparation areas in all kitchen and back of house areas for our Food and Beverage Outlets (Booking Office, MI+ME and The Hansom), In Room Dining, and Event Operations, as well as the associate canteen, to ensure a consistent, high quality area is maintained at all times.

What we're looking for

• Sustained and proven experience in a similar high volume environment finance environment
• A strong knowledge of lifestyle and luxury hotel standards
• A team-first attitude with a positive outlook and outgoing personality
• Great hospitality skills as well as attention to detail

You'll need to know your stuff:

• To adhere to and assist in the compliance of Health and Safety e.g. COSHH & Risk Assessments.
• To adhere to and assist in the compliance of Health and Safety e.g. COSHH & Risk Assessments.
• Ensure that all Fire regulations are maintained by making sure that the Fire Exits are not blocked.
• Be familiar with and practice the safe handling, care and storage of all equipment.
• To ensure that all maintenance issues have been recorded correctly, and that all mechanical and manual equipment are used as instructed
• Report any machine defects to the maintenance team and ensures that the correct action is taken.

As our new Chief Steward, you will be responsible for:

• Ensuring smooth day-to-day kitchen operations and all food preparation areas in all kitchen and back of house areas for our Food and Beverage Outlets, and Event Operations, as well as the associate canteen, to ensure a consistent, high quality area is maintained at all times. 
• Managing and developing the Steward team to ensure a high quality of service
• Creating the rota for the team and recruiting when needed
