This 5-star hotel is situated in the centre of London's West End, on the corner of Oxford Street and Park Lane. Overlooking Hyde Park and once a stately apartment building, the London Marriott Hotel Park Lane is close to all of the city's most famous attractions, theatres and shops. Marble Arch London Underground Station is just metres away and offers easy access to any part of the city.

Spa Attendant Job Summary

As our new Spa Attendant, you will: 

  • To act as a point of contact within the Health Club to all customers both guests, members, apartment owners/rentals, day guests and all club visitors
  • To manage the running of the club during the designated shift including supervision of the reception, pool and gym areas, greeting and interacting with both hotel guests and club members, and maintaining cleanliness of the club (including  gym, lift landing area, changing rooms, pool area, pool plant room and steam room).
  • To maintain a relaxing atmosphere monitoring noise and music levels are appropriate int eh different areas of the club.
  • To keep daily supplies well stocked (fruit, water, towels, slippers, bathrobes etc.) and report when ordering is needed.
  • To report any maintenance issues to the duty engineer as well as the Head Housekeeping and Director of Operations
  • To keep to the standards of the Marriott Hotel rules and regulations
  • To assist with membership sales, marketing projects, pool water PH testing and other Health Club activities as advised.

Specific duties

  • Ensure the club remains clean, tidy, and safe at all times/ be aware of risks assessments.
  • Complete Pool responder training and preferably first aid training (must be able to swim and feel comfortable around water)
  • Greet and farewell guests as they arrive and leave the club.
  • To manage the online booking system and track all treatments bookings.
  • Instruct club users in correct use of equipment/ clean equipment accordingly.
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure guest requirements are met.
  • Daily and /or whenever necessary Collect towels and robes (fold and place into towel storage areas), water from loading bay and fruit from the kitchen  
  • Answer all telephone enquiries with correct information and telephone etiquette.
  • Make regular checks in all areas of the club including swimming pool, steam room, gym and changing areas to ensure cleanliness and safety.
  • Complete pool tests every 2 hours.
  • Restock and refill soap and shampoo in showers, towels in lockers and toilet rolls in toilets when required.
  • Ensure a good knowledge of all membership procedures including dealing with enquiries and processing payments monthly and annual
  • Maintain high standards of grooming and personal hygiene in accordance with Marriott Standards.
  • Display high quality customer service at all times in accordance with Marriott standards.
  • Adhere to Health and safety procedure and keep health and safety folder updated 
  • Complete pool cleaning twice a month and ensure records are kept

What we're looking for

Experience:

  • Previous experience working in a Health Club, spa or guest facing role in a similar environment (preferred)

 

Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong Communication skills (verbal, listening, writing)
  • Good organizational skills
  • Innovative
  • Pro-active and reliable
  • Able to work alone and manage a small team

 

Education or Certification

  • Good level of English essential
