POSITION SUMMARY

An exciting career opportunity has arisen to join the Greenkeeping and Estates team at Marriott Hanbury Manor. We are currently looking for a Greenkeeper or someone looking for a change in career to join our team to help maintain and drive the standards of our championship golf course.

The successful candidate will ideally possess the following attributes and qualifications:

• Full UK driving licence.
• Be self-motivated, a team player with a positive "can do" and practical attitude.
• Ideally you will have some previous experience in greenkeeping or horticulture but it is not essential, the position is also open to people looking for their first job in the industry with the aim of moving forward with their career development for the future.
• NVQ in sports turf or a land-based subject would be advantage but not essential, although a willingness to learn is a must.
• A flexible approach to work is essential as you will be working on a rota system, which will include some weekends.
• Must have the ability to produce a high standard of work as part of a team or alone.
• A desire to further your skills, training, and experiences in the turfgrass industry.

Applicants will be working under the guidance of the Head Greenkeeper and closely with the existing team to continue to present the course and estate to the highest possible standard. Work on the course will involve a variety of duties so this position requires an individual who is able to use their skills in all areas of course maintenance and construction when needed.

About the Property:

Hanbury Manor is part of the Marriott Hotel Group, The Golf Course was designed by, and built under the supervision of, Jack Nicklaus II and Golden Bear Design Associates, a leading US golf course design group.

The first professional tournament that the Course held was the 1996 European Women's Open followed by the English Open in 1997, 1998 and 1999. The next events to return to Hanbury were The Willow Senior Golf Classic in 2016, 2017 and 2018. This event was then renamed the Sinclair Invitational in 2019.The Course's most recent Tournament was the English Championship held in 2020.
