UX Architect

About us

At Pets at Home, we want our digital teams to evolve the way we do business and shape the future of pet care.

Joining our team means you’ll play a crucial role in advancing our digital capabilities and building a brand-new customer experience. We want to excel in digital, and, as we’re working at scale, we’re backing our teams with considerable investment.

We’re also putting pets and their owners at the heart of our digital transformation. As we bring our stores, vets and groom rooms together into a holistic ecosystem of pet care, we’ll give customers a seamless, multi-channel experience that meets their individual needs at every stage.

About your role

As a UX Architect you’ll report directly into the Head of UX and be responsible for defining and mapping the end-to-end user journeys throughout our digital channel experiences.

Working closely alongside our Insight and Optimisation teams, you will identify areas of opportunity within the UX/UI design and translate these into value focussed initiatives that drive impactful commercial and customer experience results, ensuring a clear understanding of our customers’ needs and how we should address them.

You will play a central role within the UX team, establishing key cross functional relationships and advising colleagues on UX/UI best practice. You will champion and take accountability for ensuring that all proposed journey changes being fed into our test and learn programmes are designed and prioritised with our customers at the forefront of any proposed solution.

About your experience

You will possess a strong commercial background in UX and eCommerce with a proven track record of having delivered CRO improvements throughout the end-to-end customer journey.

You will be passionate about all things UX, with extensive knowledge of UX/UI design best practice, and experience of utilising journey mapping and wireframe software tools to articulate UX design and optimisation briefs/prototypes etc.

Analytically minded in your approach, you will be familiar with common commercial terminologies and able to demonstrate a working history of collaboration across data, insight and optimisation teams. Experience of having worked within a UX experimentation environment is essential, and you should be confident in proposing the best approach for various scenarios e.g. MVT / A/B / A/B/n testing.

Strong collaboration skills will be needed to work cross functionally, imparting your knowledge of UX best practices, and influencing our test and learn agenda to protect core user journeys during the migration of our website re-platform, whilst moving the experience forwards with tangible conversion gains and the introduction of new features.

Further key skills/experience required includes;

  • Experience of having worked upon UX/UI solutions across digital applications such as web, app, kiosk
  • Experience of solving important usability and accessibility problems
  • Competent with Microsoft Office software and Google Docs, Sheets, Slides
  • Stakeholder management experience

About our purpose

There are all kinds of personal and professional benefits to being part of our digital team, but it’s also worth remembering that everything we do has a sense of purpose. We’re not just here to sell food or treats, we want to help pets and their owners live happier, healthier lives together. When you make a project a success, there’s a pet and their owner at the other end who are benefitting from your efforts.
