Transport Coordinator – Stoke Distribution Centre
About the role:
A new opportunity due to internal progression for a permanent Transport Coordinator at NDC. Reporting to the Transport Operations Manager, the Transport Coordinator is responsible for all operational and site aspects of Transport for the NDC and it’s off site partners.
•Coordinate and plan efficient vehicle routing for allocated areas to ensure budgets are met
•Planning efficient driver/operative resources for allocated areas
•Responsibility for scheduling vehicle servicing and maintenance and for vehicle compliance
•Liaising with customers via the telephone and email with regards to booking planned and reactive work
•Maintain a proactive approach to risk management and adherence to site health & safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment
•Ensure the operation on shift consistently meets the requirements of the business, in terms of quality, productivity, daily and weekly operations reporting and key performance indicators (KPI) management
•Create and sustain effective working relationships within Transport, to build a climate where colleagues feel valued and engaged
•Manage the delivery of the Transport KPI’s through effective use and interpretation of reports on our internal system TrackTrans
About you:
•It will be essential for you to have current working experience working within the Transport industry along with good knowledge of the UK road network
•Demonstrable working experience within a 24/7, live, operational environment
•A good degree of computer literacy with a comprehensive working knowledge of various IT packages
•Excellent communication skills at all levels, good listener and effective in communicating ideas to support the development of good Customer relationships
•Ability to demonstrate logical thinking
•Strong and effective organising planning and process work methods
