Assistant Groundsman - St George's Hill Lawn Tennis Club - Weybridge

Responsible to: Head Groundsman 

Main Purpose of Role

To support the Head Groundsman to upkeep and maintain all external areas and to ensure a professional standard of playing surface on all courts. To ensure that all work and activities are done to the best of their abilities so that all our members and guests have the best club experience possible.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • To ensure that all club Rules & Regulations are followed
  • Report any maintenance or system issues immediately
  • To follow company procedures in the event of an emergency
  • Understand and deliver the club’s standards and procedures
  • Ensure that you are aware of, trained in and adhere to all Health & Safety requirements
  • Work with the Head Groundsman to ensure a safe environment for you and your colleagues
  • Make sure you understand and comply with all Grounds Standard operating procedures
  • To aid the Head Groundsman to upkeep and maintain all external areas and to ensure a professional standard of playing surface on all courts
  • Work with the Food & Beverage team to ensure any social function set ups are completed to the club standard
  • Attend training sessions and departmental meetings as and when required
  • Comply with the provisions of the company Health & Safety and Fire policies and implement where required
  • Promote the Club’s reputation for exceptional standards of customer care and services
  • Share relevant knowledge with, and encourage your colleagues
  • Display a positive attitude to your work and members
  • To work as part of a team, to involve, motivate & inform. Maintain standards, review and improve if necessary
  • Display empathy and the ability to understand different people and situations
  • Communicate to customers and team members in a professional manner. Anticipate & respond to your customers needs
  • Actively participate in relevant company training programmes and to take every opportunity to increase your level of expertise.
