Working alongside our Head Pastry Chef Sam Roberts, who has a passion for developing young talent, you will be responsible for all aspects of our pastry service, from breads, to cream teas. Sam is a fabulous mentor and will allow you to hone your skills and encourage your creativity within this progressive kitchen team.
Chef de Partie Pastry Overview
As part of the specialist Kitchen Brigade you will join our Head Chef in making the continuous improvements needed to take our fine dining experience to a 3 rosette standard. You will have a good understanding of pastry techniques and a desire to further develop your skills in this area. Due to the nature of the business, you may be serving events, room service and the restaurant at the same time, so you must be flexible, adaptable and remain calm under pressure.
You will have the opportunity to develop your leadership skills under our experienced Head Pastry Chef as well as contribute new ideas for the pastry menu.
- NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery or equivalent
- Experience and exposure to a variety of menu styles - 2 Rosette experience is preferred, but not essential
- Keen to develop and train junior staff and take charge of your section with confidence
- Able to multitask and maintain quality levels at all times
- Work well as a part of a busy, close knit kitchen brigade
- Possess a "can do" attitude, being able to work on your own initiative as required
