Position: UK Openings Marketing Manager (initial 6 month fixed term contract)

Reporting to: Interim reporting to Head of Marketing

Location: Flexible - Up to 25% in East Croydon

What you need to know about the role...

Our newly created UK Openings Marketing Manager has two interlinked and critical responsibilities; You will devise The Gym Group's overall marketing strategy for site openings and create and manage the implementation of each site opening's marketing plan, including performance channels, ATL media, comms, social media, door drops and local events launch activities

As our UK Openings Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for 3 key pre-sales areas. You will manage and implement openings marketing strategy, devise and manage the implementation of the core marketing plan and the local marketing plan.

Principle Accountabilities also include:

  • Ensure successful launch of each individual opening with defined measures of success as agreed with the Trading Leadership Group (TLG) and Operations SLT.
  • Implement and embed a consistent set of KPIs for site openings which drive performance and continual optimisation.
  • Manage budgets for each individual opening effectively, demonstrating clear understanding of the impact of different variables e.g. local audience, regionality, gym type/location, timing and phasing of budget.
  • Connected marketing plan | Manage an integrated core and local marketing plan for each individual opening, working closely with the relevant gym team and 3rd party agencies
  • Creative strategy | Partner with Snr Marketing Manager - Brand & Creative on openings creative and brand consistency
  • Media plan | Create and implement best in class integrated multichannel media plans, optimising our media selection, media spend and performance.
  • Comms plan | Partner with CRM and Comms team on performance driven openings comms programme
  • Local marketing plan at site level | Oversee local strategy, building local engagement plans with the gym team e.g. outreach events, H2H marketing, door drops, competitions, local business engagement and corporate deals
  • Gym toolkit | Manage and provide relevant gym collateral and content e.g. leaflets and launch videos
  • Social plan | Partner with Snr Marketing Manager - Social Media on local social strategy, best practice and social media training.
  • Support launch sites locally, requiring travel and on-site visits on a regular basis to run through local plan implementation and status.
  • Provide training to support successful implementation of different local tactics, underpinned by strong and consistent brand standards and best practice
  • Enable consistent measurement of marketing and site performance working with the Head of Commercial
  • Provide half year openings updates for senior leadership, detailing performance of each opening, successes, challenges, improvement plan, etc.
  • Use learnings to drive performance of future openings
  • Working with key internal and external stakeholders, develop and embed consistent standards, templates and processes
  • In overseeing each launch plan successfully, coordinate and connect key internal and external stakeholders effectively through regular central governance and rigorous best practice.

To enrich our great team, we are looking for a UK Openings Marketing Manager who can embrace the role, the team and our culture.

We're looking for someone who is clearly able to demonstrate:

  • Experience in managing multi-site openings in fitness, retail, hospitality or similar, including autonomous management of local marketing plans &/or site launches

OR

  • Experience with a proven ability to manage marketing budgets effectively

OR

  • Experience in media planning at an agency &/or client side, preferably on multi-site brand(s)
  • Strong commercial aptitude - this is essential. As a result, you can track openings performance to drive continuous optimisation and identify opportunities for future strategic improvements
  • That you are a detail-oriented executor, skilled at planning, prioritising and executing multiple projects simultaneously
  • A self-starter attitude.
  • You're comfortable with responding to change quickly and you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
  • A proven track record in making things happen, delivering results quickly and efficiently
  • A proactive, can-do attitude and you're up for the challenge
  • Great ideas and able to get stuff done autonomously
  • Strong communication skills
  • You show a passion for building strong relationships
