About the Pets at Home Group

Pets at Home Group Plc is the UK’s leading pet care business; our commitment is to make sure pets and their owners get the very best advice, products and care. We have over 450 stores, over 310 Groom Rooms and 440 First Opinion Vet Practices. Our business is fast-paced, innovative and fun and it's our people that make the real difference. This is a fantastic opportunity to come and work for an award winning company who put people at the very heart of everything they do.

About the role

Reporting to the Digital Acquisition Marketing Manager, this role will be responsible for the creation, optimisation and reporting for PPC campaigns across our retail paid search accounts, plus supporting and consulting on the wider group non retail accounts. You will be responsible for delivering customer-focused, profitable multi-category campaigns to agreed targets.

We are looking for an analytically minded self-starter who loves numbers, data and has good attention to detail. The right person will have worked either in-house for an e-commerce company, or for an agency on some large sized accounts, ideally in retail.

Key responsibilities (will include but not limited to):

  • Management of PPC and PLA accounts, primarily across our retail/ecommerce brand but also will be required to support on our group brands such as Vets4Pets, The Groom Room, and Pet Insurance.
  • Analyse and report on campaign effectiveness using metrics from our ad platforms, as well as Google Analytics
  • Ensure all paid search activity falls in line with the larger search marketing and digital marketing strategy; building PPC campaigns to brief and best practice guidelines
  • Plan, implement and optimise short and long-term paid search campaigns with confidence alone, but also at times alongside our PPC agency
  • Look for growth opportunities and escalate/respond to any account issues appropriately
  • Plan and test audience targeting
  • Work closely with our Digital Acquisition Specialists and Digital Marketing Manager to ensure we are achieving paid search objectives complementary to our key strategic pillars
  • Work with the content and merchandising team to ensure landing pages are effectively optimised for all PPC campaigns to ensure maximum ROI and conversion
  • Perform keyword research as well as analyse search queries across existing campaigns
  • Propose and create engaging ad copy to maximise conversion rate and reflect promotional/seasonal offers and ranges
  • Manage and optimise shopping feed in conjunction with our feed agency; ensuring we have maximum PLA visibility across Google and Bing
  • Manage medium to large-sized PPC budgets (own brand/supplier funded/local and services)
  • Monitor and report on daily and monthly budget caps, impression share, quality score and CPCs
  • Optimise our bid strategies, ensuring CPCs and KPIs are to target
  • Generate spend forecasts for upcoming campaigns
  • Keep up to date with the latest industry trends, whilst also analysing the market and competitors.
  • Work with our Google/Bing Account Managers and agencies to understand platform updates and optimisation best practices
  • Conduct billing processes (raising POs, reconciling and invoicing) following compliance guidelines
