We are looking for a dynamic Management Company with the drive and passion to take the Ship in Distress to the next phase of its success story. Strong leadership and marketing know-how will be essential here to drive sales and superb service through a strong tried and tested team. Experience of running a busy kitchen and managing a team, that takes immense pride in delivering exceptional standards that are second to none.
Excellent hospitality skills and a passion for planning and hosting regular events at the pub as well as the ability to drive cover turn will be the key to success.

The Ship in Distress is a 300 year old pub in Stanpit, a small community between Christchurch and the very popular golden beaches of Mudeford. The pub itself is only minutes from the sea and in a previous life was very popular with smugglers, hence the name!
The pub received a transformational investment in Spring 2020 creating a fittingly traditional nautical theme which pays tribute to its coastal location. A cosy snug, centred around the fire welcomes you as you walk through the door with the bar in front of you, focussing on selling excellent real ale. The restaurant area is towards the rear, complete with table service station, booths, a variety of seating choices.
