Then look no further, we are looking for an enthusiastic and analytically minded individual to join our Retail commercial finance team providing commercial support and insight across our c650 stores, central retail operations and people functions.

The team plays a key role in ensuring we deliver the company plan, through influencing sales performance and cost control, providing high-quality insight, independent oversight and challenge, holding teams to account on overall P&L/KRA delivery.

The role provides commercial finance support for the Regional People Senior Director and a team of regional SMPs (Senior Manager People).  You will have P&L ownership for salaries, indirect employment costs & colleague discount, covering a total cost base in excess of 300m pa, whilst supporting on the management of retail wages worth 1.5bn.

Your role

End to end ownership of salaries, indirect & colleague discount including planning, forecasting & balance sheet awareness

Finance business partner for operations teams in these areas, providing support to inform decision making or aid understanding

Identifying opportunities for improvements in performance across employment costs through robust financial analysis, using data analytics to drive actionable insight

Tracking of cost transformation benefits being delivered in these cost lines

Ownership of the monthly forecast process for these lines

Holding stakeholders to account for delivery of plan by quarter

Appraisal of investment opportunities to inform business cases

About you 

• Previous commercial finance experience
• Applicants should be a graduate (or equivalent) with strong academics and an accounting qualification (Part qualified is fine)
• Strong technical skills (Excel, Alteryx, Tableau, Essbase)
